Hi Everyone,

I've hatched up a sentimental idea that may sound a little hair-brained to some of you, but here goes. This will mainly be of interest to the builders of the group.

I'd like to gather some rivets from anyone who has them and give them to Joanne at some point in the future, so that someday they may be used during the completion of Tom's RV8.

If you have any  3/32" x 3.5 (AN426 3-3.5) flush-head rivets laying around, put a dozen or so in a zip-lock baggie or an old 35mm film canister and write you name on it. If you can get them to me today or tomorrow I'll make sure they get airborne in Monday's Missing Man formation flight. If not this weekend, anytime in the next couple weeks will be OK too.

I talked to Dan Wiese today and he said he'd be happy to collect them for me at the showing on Sunday or at  Tom's service on Monday. So if you don't see me, give them to Dan or Mike Whitescarver. Please don't give them to Joanne, I'd like to make this our little surprise.

If you look at one of these tiny, little rivets they don't seem so strong or important, just like the individual members of our group, but when you put a bunch of them together they can do amazing things.

Thank you,

Tony Kirk
